Before the confetti drops and we all enjoy champagne at midnight (or cider, or if you’re asleep then), let’s take a look back at some of the biggest Redtail moments of 2025. This year brought game-changing features, faster performance, a brand refresh, and more ways for advisors to connect meaningfully with clients and with us.

So grab a cookie, cue the year-in-review playlist, and let’s unwrap four of our favorite highlights from the year.

Three Big Features Revealed at Ascent 2025

We kicked off the year strong with three major Redtail upgrades announced at Orion’s Ascent 2025. First, we launched CRM ownership reassignment, making it easier than ever to transition teams without dropping the ball on client service. Then came Lightweight Enterprise Reporting; a powerful tool that gives large firms better visibility across multiple Redtail instances and lays the groundwork for full enterprise dashboards. The third feature, secure third-party document sharing, helps advisors collaborate with their clients, as well as external professionals like CPAs and attorneys, more easily and more securely. These updates weren’t just dreamed up in a vacuum; they were shaped by real user preferences from Orion’s 2025 Investor Survey.

Redtail Early Access: Built with You, Not Just for You

In 2025, we rolled out something special: Redtail Early Access, our new environment for testing upcoming features before they go live. This is more than just a beta program; it’s a way for you to shape the CRM you use every day by exploring upcoming, in-development features in real time and sharing feedback directly with our team. From visual design updates to an enhanced Client Review experience, your insights are already influencing what gets prioritized and how features evolve. Early Access has quickly become a two-way street for innovation, and it’s only just beginning.

A Whole New Look (and a Whole Lot More Speed)

This summer, we introduced a whole new, updated look for Redtail, but it wasn’t just about new fonts and sleeker graphics. Redtail CRM also got a serious under-the-hood performance boost. Loading speeds across high-traffic pages like the Today Dashboard, Contact Timeline, and Calendar improved by up to 90%, making everyday usage smoother and faster than ever. We also used this moment to reestablish our commitment to listening, engaging, and growing alongside our users. The result? A Redtail that looks sharper, works faster, and feels more connected to your daily experience.

Fan Favorite Features That Just Made Life Better

Throughout the year, we introduced smaller (but mighty) feature updates that had been at the top of Users’ wish lists. Enhanced Notification Emails now give you more clarity and customization when activities are added or changed. Dark Mode arrived in May and made working in Redtail a little easier on the eyes (and a lot more stylish). And just this fall, one of the most-requested updates finally dropped: you can now use User Defined Fields directly in Advanced Search, unlocking smarter segmentation and more personal client engagement. These were updates driven by feedback, tested in Early Access, and refined to make your day-to-day better.

Here’s to What’s Next

Whether you’ve been with us for 20 years or just joined the Redtail pack, we’re grateful for every idea, question, and piece of feedback you’ve shared with us this year. You’ve helped shape Redtail into something faster, smarter, and more connected, and we’re just getting started.

Here’s to a peaceful holiday season, a joyful New Year, and even more exciting updates to come in 2026.

From all of us at Redtail: thank you, happy holidays, and we’ll see you next year.
